The launch of YG Family Channel is the first joint project by YG and Samsung Electronics aimed at expanding their businesses in the Chinese market. Samsung Electronics is the official sponsor of YG’s channel. YG plans to establish a branch in China in the near future.
“During the past decade, we had many opportunities in China but we also had a number of challenges. It gives me great pleasure that YG is finally holding this big agreement ceremony with Youku and Samsung Electronics,” Yang said at the event.
“We will do our best to fulfill our role as the cultural bridge between Korea, China and the rest of Asia through various content on YG’s official Youku channel,” he added.
YG will exclusively provide premium content such as its singers’ music videos as well as video clips of interviews, “the making of” films, and world tour documentaries through the Youku channel.
