Ensemble Ditto. ( Credia) |
Ensemble Ditto has announced that it will hold two additional performances on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 in response to the popularity of last month’s seventh “Ditto Festival.”
Tickets for the “Ditto Festival,” which was held at numerous locations nationwide, sold out in a matter of days. The group wanted to thank its fans for their support and give them another chance to enjoy their performance this summer.
“BACH for SOLO” will take place on Aug. 31 and “Code Name: BACH” the following day. Both concerts will be at Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall.
As the title suggests, the August concert will feature solo pieces by Bach, including “Partita for Violin No. 3 in E Major, BWV 1006” and “Partita No. 1 in B Flat Major, BWV825.” “Code Name: Bach” will include works that are thought to have continued Bach’s musical style, such as Mozart’s Violin Sonata No. 22 in A Minor, K. 305, and Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio No. 2 in C Minor, Op. 66.
Ensemble Ditto is a project chamber ensemble that began performing in 2007, with Richard Yongjae O’Neill on the viola, Stefan P. Jackiw and Daniel Jung on the violin, Michael Nicolas on the cello, and Ji-yong on the piano. It will be the last performances for Ji-yong, who has been playing with the group for five years.
Ticket prices range from 30,000 won to 80,000 won and can be purchased at www.clubbalcony.com. For more information, call 1577-5266.
