Best known as the former lead vocalist of the famed Korean rock band Boohwal and a judge on singing audition program “Superstar K,” singer Lee Seung-chul has topped the K-pop Billboard charts for the first time in his 27-year career with his new rock ballad single “My Love.”
Lee released his latest 10-track album, also titled “My Love,” on June 18, making it his 11th studio album and his first full album release in almost four years.
After debuting in 1989 as a member of the still-ongoing rock band Boohwal, Lee decided to leave the group to pursue a career as a solo artist. That same year, he unveiled his first solo album, “Don’t Say Goodbye,” and has since made a name for himself as a veteran rock artist.
In honor of his new album, Lee will embark on a nationwide concert tour titled “Beach Voice,” which will take the rocker to seven cities across the country. Launching with a concert event on Saturday in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province, Lee will head to Jeonju, Seoul, Anyang, Daegu, Busan and Pohang. The veteran will hold a special two-day concert on July 12 and 13 at the War Memorial of Korea’s Peace Plaza in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
