Singer Lim Kim of singing duo Togewol has unveiled her first album as a solo artist.
Titled “A Voice,” the album features five songs including the pre-released track “Number 1.” The album is slated for an official release on Tuesday, but the tracks were made available for downloading a day earlier.
The title track “All Right” swept local music charts just hours after its release, topping at least five charts including, Mnet, Naver and Bugs and taking the No. 2 spot on Melon behind Sistar’s “Give It To Me.”
In the lead track, Kim mutters the sorrows of a broken love affair with determined indifference, saying she is “all right.”
Kim, whose real name is Kim Ye-rim, said the lead track “felt like something that just fit me.” She said producer Yoon Jong-shin wrote the song after a series of conversations with her about what kind of music she is interested in.
The relationship between Yoon and the 20-year-old singer goes back to 2011, when the two faced each other as judge and contestant in a TV talent show “Superstar K3.”
Kim, along with her band mate Do Dae-yun, gained popularity via the show. Kim was especially noted for her unique voice, which was praised by nearly all of the judges at “Superstar K3.”
