The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Korea announced that Don MacKenzie has been elected its new chairman for 2012.

“I look forward to taking over the great work of Simon Bureau. His work and dedication over the last four years have helped establish a sound foundation upon which we can continue to build in the future,” said MacKenzie.

MacKenzie joined A.T. Kearney Korea in 2010 as vice chairman, focusing primarily on the firm’s extensive financial services, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity.

Before this, he worked with Kookmin Bank for 10 years where he served as both the chief financial officer and chief risk officer, and on the Board of Directors.

Before coming to Korea, Don was the country manager for ING Bank in Japan, and for Goldman Sachs as a vice president.

“For 2012, we have a talented, dedicated board and through our newly established Executive Committee we plan to expand the number and type of events that we hold, and extend our reach to include not only new members from the Canadian community here, but also more Korean companies that have a business interest in Canada,” he said.
