Apple said Friday that it would launch its first wearable gadget, Apple Watch, in seven more countries including South Korea on June 26 after it began rolling out the smart watch last April in some global markets.
According to the Cupertino, California-based tech giant, among the group of new markets where the Apple Watch will be additionally available are Italy, Mexico, Singapore, Korea, Spain, Switzerland and Taiwan.
The digital timepiece was previously only available in nine nations including the U.S. Japan, Canada and China.
“The response to Apple Watch has surpassed our expectations in every way, and we are thrilled to bring it to more customers around the world,” said Jeff Williams, Apple’s senior vice president of operations, in a press release.

The maker of the iPhone series also said all variants of the smart watch, except for Apple Watch 42 mm Space Black Stainless Steel with Space Black Link Bracelet, will be shipped to customers within two weeks of ordering.
A market analyst said “it remains to be seen whether Apple can allure tech-savvy Korean consumers on the home turf of Samsung Electronics, which has rolled out a series of smart watches since last year.”
