South Korean tech giants Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics are gearing up to display their prowess at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the U.S. on Jan. 6-9.
Samsung Electronics, Korea’s biggest electronics appliance maker, said Monday that it would showcase new concepts and innovative products targeting the North American market at the global exhibition.
Its CES product lineup includes the ACTIVWash washing machine with space above the drum, enabling consumers the option to prewash or hand wash delicate fabrics and dirty clothes.

Users will be able to wash their delicate items with a built-in jet stream, which can provide water for prewashing with the touch of a button.
Samsung said the machine has a “Super Speed” cycle of 36 minutes, adding that the company will display this feature to give visitors firsthand experience of it.
It will also introduce the induction Chef Collection Range with LED and electric heating technologies.
The range’s LED light allows users to see whether the gas system is properly working and cooking, Samsung noted.
LG Electronics, the country’s second-largest consumer electronics maker, said that it would focus on displaying its ultrahigh-definition televisions with upgraded visual and audio systems at the CES next week.
Its product lineup will include 40-inch to 105-inch flat and curved TVs featuring advanced resolution and color reproduction.
It will introduce a UHD TV with wide-color LED technology, and quantum dot-based LCD TVs.
The company previously said that it planned to showcase two sets of 55- and 65-inch LCD TVs embedded with films of quantum dot nanocrystals, which are placed in front of the LCD backlights.
