흰코뿔소 꼬리를 싹둑 잘라 죽인 사례도 있다. 영역다툼에서 부상당한 성체 수컷을 점박이하이에나 한 녀석이 해치웠던 것.

영상 속 2인조는 어미 코뿔소까지 농락하고 있었다.

새끼 지켜야 했던 어미는 무모한 반격을 자제하는 모습이다. 두 하이에나 공격조는 도주하는 코뿔소 모자를 순순히 보내주지 않는 악바리 근성을 드러냈다.
