Everland -- South Korea’s largest theme park in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province -- is offering special events ranging from fireworks to hands-on traditional and cultural activities during the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday.

Celebrating the Year of the Blue Dragon, Everland offers good luck message cards to all visitors at Everland’s Butterfly Garden and Carnival Square.

The cards feature animation characters wishing health, happiness, love, bravery, wealth and more, allowing the visitors to learn their fortune for this year.

From 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., visitors can try different Lunar New Year holiday games, including a whipping top, “jegichagi” -- a game where the players take turns kicking “jegi,” or Korean-style shuttlecock, arrow-throwing “tuho,” Korean traditional board game “yutnori” and more at the theme park’s Carnival Square.

Everland’s mascots Lenny and Lara will be dressed in hanbok, traditional Korean attire, to take photos with visitors.

A special Lunar New Year-themed food truck will be parked at Carnival Square, selling snacks, including Korean rice cakes, “eomuk,” or Korean-style fish cakes, green tea and more.

The multimedia show “Evertopia” featuring video laser fireworks will be held at night, from Thursday to Sunday.

For those who wish to make a special memory with Fu Bao, the first panda to be born in Korea, visit Bao Haus, a Fu Bao-themed exhibition held at the center of Everland.

The indoor exhibition presents the stories of Fu Bao’s family through videos, photos and holograms.

Everland is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the Lunar New Year holidays, except on Feb. 12, when the theme park will close at 7 p.m.
