점박이하이에나가 사자 살점 물어뜯으려는 장면이 카메라에 포착됐다. 치명상 입고 곧 숨멎은 것으로 보이는 사자 암컷의 사체였다.

녀석은 고기가 된 최고포식자 곁에서 일단 멈칫멈칫한다.

잠시 후 한입 베어무는 듯하던 녀석은 그러나 시식을 포기했다. 입맛 쩍쩍 다시다가 웬일인지 자리를 뜬 것.

하이에나든 사자든 상대의 숨통을 끊더라도 먹는 경우는 드문 것으로 알려져 있다.

다만, 수년 전 수사자한테 죽임당한 하이에나가 그 자리에서 잡아먹히는 영상이 퍼진 바 있다.
