Gourmet couture at W Hotel Seoul Walkerhill

W Hotel Seoul Walkerhill presents a stylish collaboration between the hotel’s casual dining restaurant Kitchen and designer Munsoo Kwon, starting Oct. 2. The menu is inspired by and reflects the designs in Kwon’s 2015 Fall/Winter collection.

The menu will include arugula juice, shrimp and black rice brioche salad, mantis crab, black sesame-crusted and grilled halibut with black sesame risotto and yellow saffron cream, prime beef striploin steak with blueberry and Barolo sauce, quinoa and Iberian Jamon.

Kwon, who won the International Woolmark Prize for Menswear in Asia, has gained renown as a star designer. The hotel’s star chef Jonathan Jo will be in charge of cuisine, bringing Kwon’s designs to life in his tasteful dishes.

Five-course dinners under this theme will be offered every Friday in October, while a Munsoo Kwon cocktail will be sold at the hotel’s WooBar throughout September and October.

Contemporary Korean wedding at Grand Hyatt Seoul

Grand Hyatt Seoul is presenting the “Contemporary Korean Wedding at Namsan Mountain,” a wedding service that fuses the contemporary Western wedding with Korean traditions, in response to the current trend of sweet, small-scale weddings.

The wedding service will be held at the hotel’s Namsan Room, which is located on the 2nd floor and can accommodate up to 140 guests.

The venue features floor-to-ceiling glass windows with panoramic views of the Han River and the Namsan foothills. The interiors are furnished in an earth-tone décor and fine mahogany paneling, while the officiating platform will be decked in traditional Korean fabric.

The bridal path will be punctuated by ceramic lovebirds and lined with white porcelain vases and candles. The guest tables on either side of the bridal path will be dressed with delicately colored china and place settings, while Korean paintings will be hung on the walls.
