Summer set menu at Park Hyatt Seoul

Park Hyatt Seoul’s The Lounge is presenting a summer set menu until August. The set menu includes a bowl of bingsu, (ice flakes with various toppings), two smoked martinis and a snack dish. Guests can choose from four types of bingsus: Pat Bingsu, made with red beans and rice cake; Berry Bingsu, made with fresh berries, chocolate and nuts; Honey Bee-ingsu made with honeycomb, vanilla ice cream, apple puree and pecans; or Spicy Melon Bingsu, made with cantaloupe, watermelon and spicy pumpkin. Guests can choose from three types of smoked martinis: Raspberry Delight, made with Absolut Berry Acai and raspberry puree; Apple Nights, made with Monkey 47 gin, calvados, apple schnapps and grape juice; or Melon Dream, made with Midori, blueberry liquor and lemon juice. The snack dishes include fresh vegetables, fruit chips, fried calamari, foie gras pont wine jelly, smoked salmon bruschetta and tarts. The set menu is priced at 95,000 won for two, including tax. ‘Sebastien’s Summer Treats’ at Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas

Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas’ Grand Deli is introducing the seasonal dessert menu “Sebastien’s Summer Treats,” prepared by the deli’s chef Sebastien Cocquery, until Aug. 24. The special dessert menu includes seasonal fruits (including orange, raspberry, lemon and cherry), eclairs (chewy French pastries made with sweet fresh cream and chocolate), cardinals (chocolate brownies topped with raspberry mousse), Sun Shine (a sun-shaped mousse cake made with orange and almond) and Parfum de Provence (a millefeuille-style cake stuffed with pistachio and apricot). “Sebastien’s Summer Treats” is priced at 15,000 won, including tax. Canadian lobster festival at Conrad Seoul from July 16

Conrad Seoul’s signature restaurant 37 Grill & Bar is holding a festival featuring the Canadian lobster from July 16 to 18. Co-organized by the Canadian embassy in Seoul, the Canadian Lobster Festival will spotlight lobster harvested near the Canadian fishing village of Fourchu and environmentally friendly ingredients grown in Korea. The six-course dinner menu includes a lobster carpaccio appetizer, citrus gastrique lobster knuckle, buttered lobster in flower water and maple syrup, and lobster and kimchi broth with a pig’s head torchon. The main course will feature hanwoo beef and roasted lobster tail with glazed deodeok, pine nuts, dark beer and black garlic puree. The meal is topped off with a sunflower bavarois dessert. A meal fit for a king at Lotte Hotel Seoul

Lotte Hotel Seoul’s traditional Korean restaurant Mugunghwa is offering cuisine inspired by traditional dishes enjoyed by the yangban, the aristocratic class during the Joseon era. “Dimibang,” the name of this special event, refers to the room in which Joseon kings dined on specialties delivered by aristocrats. The special course menu prepared by Mugunghwa features delicacies from South Gyeongsang Province. The lunch set menu -- priced at 95,000 won -- includes potato noodles, steamed burdock, seasoned acorn jelly salad, Korean-style pancake, sweetfish roasted with chili paste and other yangban dishes. The dinner set menu -- priced at 135,000 won -- adds a royal hot pot and whole chicken soup to the lunch set menu. This special event will be held during the month of July. Traditional stamina food at Sheraton Seoul D Cube City Hotel 

Sheraton Seoul D Cube City Hotel’s signature restaurant Feast is featuring its own take on a traditional Korean dish, samgyetang, to mark the onset of summer. A popular summer dish, samgyetang is a variety of Korean soup made from whole chicken and mountain ginseng. The dish is celebrated for its stamina-boosting properties, and this summer Feast is returning with its own version of the popular soup, the black sesame samgyetang. In this new twist on the traditional dish, the recipe is enhanced with “black food” ingredients, including black rice and black sesame.
