A Florida man allegedly drove a vehicle into his girlfriend and her family, killing her mother and injuring her, her father and three siblings, police said.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff‘s Office said Diego Francisco Pascual, 26, of Lake Worth had decided he wanted to “scare” and “hurt” his live-in girlfriend and her family after an argument with her, The Palm Beach Post reported.
Pascual was being held in the county jail on charges of first-degree murder and five counts of attempted first-degree murder.
Police said Cristina Andres, the 37-year-old mother of Pascual’s girlfriend, Ana Pedro-Andres, was killed, and Ana, 17, and her father, Miguel Pedro Francisco, 37, were severely injured. Both were still hospitalized Sunday at Delray Medical Center.
Three of Ana‘s younger siblings, Maria, 10, Carmina, 6, and Manuel, 3, were released by Sunday afternoon from Bethesda Memorial Hospital in Boynton Beach.
The Post said Pascual told detectives he had been angry since Saturday evening after an argument with Ana because she wouldn’t give him the keys to his sport utility vehicle so he could go out and drink. He said he had “accidentally” hit Ana with a door and her parents “went to hit him and kick him.”
Pascual said he bought a pack of 18 Bud Light beers and began drinking in a convenience store parking lot, then drove to a friend‘s house about midnight and continued drinking there.
A police report said he awoke about 9 a.m. Sunday and when he recalled the family washed clothes on that day, drove to a coin laundry, where he found the family, then sped up to about 50 mph and drove into the family members.
The Post said Pascual told detectives he tried to swerve to avoid hitting Ana, then fled. He turned himself in Sunday after a manhunt. (UPI)

파스쿠알은 술을 마시러 나가려는데 애나가 자동차 키를 넘겨 주지 않자 다퉜으며, "실수로" 애나를 문으로 쳤는데 그녀의 가족들이 와서 자신을 폭행했다고 말했다.
이어 그는 편의점으로 가 맥주 18개를 사서 주차장에서 마시고는 자정 무렵 친구네 집으로 차를 몰고 가, 그 곳에서 더 마셨다고 덧붙였다.
경찰은 그가 일요일 아침 9시에 일어나, 애나네 가족들이 일요일마다 세탁소에 간다는 사실을 기억하고는 그곳으로 가 50mph (약 시속 80km)의 속도로 돌진했다고 전했다.
그는 애나를 치지 않으려고 핸들을 돌리려 했다고 밝혔다.
그는 일요일에 범인 수색이 있은 후, 자진 출두 했다.
