함부르크 손흥민, 이적설 솔솔

독일 프로축구 함부르크SV에서 뛰고 있는 손흥민(21)의 거취를 두고 루머가 계속해서 나오고 있다.

영국의 더 위크 (The Week) 매거진은 7일 (현지시간) 영국 프리미어리그의 명문 구단 아스날과 토트넘, 그리고 분데스리가의 도르트문트 등이 손흥민을 두고 스카우트 경쟁을 벌이고 있다고 보도했다.

이와 관련해 함부르크의 경영진 역시 손흥민의 이적을 고려하고 있는 것으로 알려졌다. 프랑크 아르네센 함부르크 단장은 손흥민에 관해 “현재 (손흥민과) 새로운 계약과 관련해 협상을 하고 있으며 만약 새 계약을 하지 못하면 당연히 그를 팔게 될 것”이라고 밝혔다.

이어 에드가 야호브 함부르크 구단주 역시 8일(한국시간) 독일 일간지 ‘디 벨트’와의 인터뷰에서 “올 여름 손흥민을 팔지 못하면 큰 손해를 보게 된다”고 밝혔다. 그는 “수백만 유로에 달하는 이적료를 포기할 클럽은 전 세계 어디에도 없다”며 손흥민의 이적을 시사했다.

이는 손흥민을 무조건 지키겠다는 기존의 입장과는 상반된 것인데, 이는 최근 손흥민의 주가가 오르며 그에 대한 유럽 명문 클럽들의 러브콜이 쏟아져 재계약이 어려워졌기 때문인 것으로 보인다. 이에 따라 함부르크는 2014년으로 예정된 계약 만료 전까지 그를 이적시켜 이적료를 챙기려는 것으로 보인다.

손흥민은 이번 시즌 분데스리가에서 11골을 기록했는데, 유럽 축구시장의 선수이동 동향을 살피는 웹사이트 트랜스퍼 마켓 (TransferMarket) 은 손흥민의 시장가치(market value)를 약 1천1백50만 파운드(한화 약 193억원)로 추산했다. (코리아헤럴드)

Striker Son coveted by U.K., German teams: report

Hamburg SV striker Son Heung-min is attracting interest from European soccer clubs including Arsenal and Tottenham of the English league and Dortmund of Germany, according to news reports.

The speculation grew that the 21-year-old South Korean may end his tenure at Hamburg after reports indicated that several teams are showing interest in him. Son’s contract with Hamburg expires after the 2013-04 season.

Hamburg’s sporting director Frank Arnesen said that the club would be forced to sell Son if they fail to reach an agreement on the new contract.

The massive investment may be reasonable: According to U.K. website Transfer Market, the player’s market value is estimated at 11.5 million pounds, and has been trending up since he debuted on the adult stage in 2010.

For English clubs, Son is considered a reasonable investment given his high skill level and marketing value. Son is the team’s second-best scorer and English soccer in is very popular in South Korea.
