LG Group chairman Koo Bon-moo visited LG Electronics’ research and development campus in Gasan-dong, Seoul, on Wednesday to perform a quality inspection on its products before their release.
The chairman checked LG Electronics’ new flagship smartphone, the G3, which will be unveiled at the end of this month, and other soon-to-be-released products such as the G Watch and OLED televisions.
Koo examined the design and user interface of the products, the company spokesperson said.
LG’s chief technology officer Ahn Seung-kwon presented a plan to improve its design competitiveness.
“We will focus on developing products to satisfy consumers,” Ahn said.
LG Electronics said it would set up a design committee as part of its plan to beef up products. The committee, consisting of design experts and executives, will review the company’s future product development.
LG will boost its design competitiveness for its smart home system and wearable devices, and apply it to other businesses such as construction and fashion.
About 30 executives including LG Electronics vice chairman Koo Bon-joon, CTO Ahn and home entertainment chief Ha Hyun-hwei accompanied the chairman.
