무기로써의 부메랑의 위력을 알려주는 영상이 화제다.
재래식 무기 제조사 ‘콜드 스틸’(Cold Steel)의 유튜브 채널은 자체 제작한 철제 부메랑으로 직접 음료 캔이나 얼음 덩어리, 과일, 벽돌 등 물체를 두동강내고, 닫혀 있는 문짝을 뚫어내는 모습을 영상으로 보여준 바 있다. 해당 영상은 부메랑이 근거리에서 단검처럼 이용되는 동시에, 원거리에서 투척형으로 사용할 수도 있다는 것을 보여준다.

영상에 따르면, 미국인들은 철제 부메랑을 사냥 등 레저 스포츠에 이용하기도 한다.
