얼룩말은 대체로 온순하고 조용한 이미지로 알려져 있다. 그렇지만 이들도 화가 나면 어디까지나 야생의 동물이다.
야생동물 사진작가 베른하르트 베커가 남아프리카공화국 크루거국립공원에서 촬영한 영상이다.

영상에서 얼룩말 두 마리는 뒷발로 서로의 몸통을 때리며 약 15분간 격한 싸움을 벌인다.
베커는 “수컷들의 싸움에 암컷들은 끼어들지 않았다”며 “녀석들의 싸움은 한참 동안 이어졌다”고 설명했다.
