1. Why young people have 'call phobia' and how to manage it

기사 요약: 젊은이들 사이 확산되는 '통화 기피증'

[1] A minute away from initiating a phone call with her landlord, Lee Hyun-jung, a 24-year-old college graduate, feels her heart racing and palms getting sweaty. These all-too-familiar symptoms seem to arise when she has to make or receive a phone call, prompting her to avoid speaking on the phone whenever possible.

[2] Phone anxiety, also known as call phobia or telephobia, is a form of social anxiety disorder observed in a growing number of people, particularly among those belonging to the so-called "MZ Generation" -- millennials and Generation Z born between the early 1980s to early 2010s.

* social anxiety disorder 사회 불안 장애

2. Seoul to host 2027 World Youth Day

기사 요약: 가톨릭 '세계청년대회' 2027년 서울 개최 확정

[1] Pope Francis on Sunday announced Seoul as the host of the 2027 World Youth Day site during the closing Mass for this year’s global Catholic Church event for young people in Lisbon. South Korea will become the second Asian host of World Youth Day, a celebration organized by the Catholic Church for young devotees from all over the world, following the Philippines in 1995.

* host 주최

* devotees 신자들

[2] The closing Mass in Manila recorded the largest gathering of people in a religious event with over 5 million people, while more than 2 million pilgrims are estimated to have visited this year’s World Youth Day in Lisbon, according to the organizer. The Archdiocese of Seoul estimated that 700,000 to 1 million people could participate in the 2027 World Youth Day, including some 200,000 to 300,000 overseas participants.

* gathering 모임

* pilgrim 순례자

[3] The Seoul Archdiocese hopes the upcoming World Youth Day will offer consolation, reconciliation and provide new value to young people in Korea. The pope usually makes an appearance at World Youth Day. Should Pope Francis make the trip in 2027, it will mark a fourth visit by a head of the Catholic Church to South Korea. Pope John Paul II visited South Korea twice, in 1984 and 1989 and Francis in 2014.

* consolation 위안, 위로

* make appearance (현장에) 나타나다, 참석하다
